Central Florida GIS Workshop

13 September 2013 by Coleman McCormick

Next week, Sept. 16-17, we’ll be in Orlando for the Central Florida GIS Workshop, an annual industry event bringing together Florida’s growing GIS community to talk issues and learn about innovative new techniques in mapping. Since the Fulcrum team is headquartered here in Florida, this event gives us the opportunity to help our state’s municipal GIS departments address problems unique to Florida. Here in the southeast, issues like hurricane response, flooding, transportation, tourism, and many others are at the forefront of the space.

Zac will be talking about new techniques for streamlining workflows in the field using Fulcrum and several other tools. I’ll be talking about new tech in the mapping space, and what the growth of the community and new collaboration tools are doing to spread the usage of GIS into new industries — raising the bar for what can be done with spatial data. We’re looking forward to meeting more of our Florida-based geo community. Follow @fulcrumapp on Twitter to keep up with what’s going on at the conference, there’s a full schedule of tech talks and presentations from folks all over the state.
