How do I set up integration with Zapier?

Zapier is a platform that connects events or data from one system (“triggers”) to kick off other events using other tools and web services (“actions”). Fulcrum offers a “trigger” service on Zapier that allows you to integrate Fulcrum data with services like Salesforce, Dropbox, Google Drive, Basecamp, and many more - or to do simple actions like send emails or push notifications to devices. Learn how to get Zapier set up for yourself to build your own custom integrations between Fulcrum and other services. To get started:

  1. Go to the Zapier website and create an account, it’s free to get started.
  2. Click “Make a New Zap” to create a new one.
  3. On the left are triggers, on the right are actions. Fulcrum is a trigger, so click the dropdown on the left and select Fulcrum.
  4. Now select a trigger for when to kick off the action - when a record is created, status changes, or a record is assigned.
  5. Browse the list of Action apps on the right, there are dozens of available tools and services to integrate with. Email is good for testing, you can generate automated email alerts when, say, a Fulcrum record is created.
  6. Connect your Fulcrum account using your API key.
  7. Copy the Zapier URL and add a new webhook to your Fulcrum account with this URL. This will enable the data to be sent from Fulcrum to Zapier to trigger the action.
  8. Pick the app from which you want to send data, then you can set up filters that will only trigger the action under certain conditions within your data.
  9. Set the parameters for what to send to the action service. There are tons of options, so browse the Zapbook to find out what’s possible
  10. Test it out!
