Staff Spotlight: Heather Robyak, Enterprise Account Executive

It’s our semi-annual “All Hands” week here at Spatial Networks, which means everyone on the staff (including our remote employees from around the country) is here at our headquarters in St. Petersburg, FL.

These are some of the most exciting and productive weeks for SNI, and a great opportunity for us to bond and work toward our common goals. With more than a dozen new employees since our last All Hands week, there has been lots of getting-to-know-you activity.

In that spirit, we present the next installment of Staff Spotlight! Meet our amazing Enterprise Account Executive, Heather, a member of the team since 2016:

Staff Spotlight: Heather Robyak

Tell us a bit about your background and how you got into this industry.

I have always loved people and technology. I started my career in marketing at Time Warner after earning my Bachelor’s Degree from Florida State University. We were launching Road Runner (the internet service provider) at the time, so it was a super kinetic environment that cemented my love of technology! I spent as much time as I could geeking out on what made Road Runner work. After a few years there, I wanted to get out from behind the desk and talk to customers, so I went into sales.

I love to learn and I love academia, so I decided to go back to school for my MBA. While attending the University of Tampa, a wise counselor there suggested that I also obtain a Master’s in Marketing. With two more degrees under my belt, I wanted to make a difference somewhere. I am highly process oriented and get a kick out of finding efficiencies. I also like to organize things (perhaps stemming from an obsession with containers?) so when I was approached to help start a sales team at Spatial Networks, I knew it was meant to be.

I have had the chance to work in some rewarding industries, but I am driven by the excitement of technology. Coming to Spatial Networks allowed me to combine my abilities with my interests and offered me the chance to work with some brilliant people, thereby ensuring I could always find something to learn.

What does your job entail?

Enterprise customers have unique needs because they typically have complex data collection processes, multiple levels of decision-making, longer procurement cycles and multiple business units they need to please. My role is to help larger organizations navigate the configuration, evaluation, and (hopefully) launch of Fulcrum. In order to accomplish this, I need to get to know their business. I need to understand everything from how the end users collect data at the field level to how top management uses that data to make decisions, and everything in between. The goal is to help organizations make faster decisions through faster access to better data.

What gets you out of bed in the morning?

Every day is a chance to meet a new person, taste new food, experience new places or find new music. I never stop trying to see and do everything I can.

What’s the most rewarding part of your job?

I’m deeply passionate about helping customers and I love the product I sell. Every day, customers tell me how Fulcrum is dramatically impacting what they do and how they do it. I also get to hear from people in every kind of industry imaginable. It is never the same day twice. I also care about my customers and they know I am here as a resource to make sure they get everything they can out of Fulcrum.

What’s something you’re excited about right now?

This is the most exciting time yet for me at SNI. Just a few months ago, I was the only sales person. We now have a team of 6! We are shaking the snow globe, finding new places for the snow to land. I am energized by change, so it could not be more exciting.

What do you do outside of work?

I have the perfect daughter (3 years old), who reminds me that I need to strive to be a better person every day. I love spending time with her and my husband. Music is my medicine. I love to go to concerts and you will rarely find me without a tune in my head. I race sailboats, so I spend a lot of time hanging on the rail of a boat. I have an unhealthy obsession with trying new restaurants and recipes. Yoga helps me continue to find my best self.
