The Value of Cloud-Based Services in Times of Crisis

As a technology company, focused on building software, we consider ourselves to be in a fortunate position during this global pandemic. With one-third of our workforce already working remotely, we are well-positioned to continue operations with minimal disruption.

We rely heavily on communication tools like Slack and Zoom for staying connected, GSuite for business productivity, and specialty products like GitHub, Basecamp, and Trello for code and project management. These cloud-based services have become essential for maintaining productivity, particularly now that our company headquarters is closed and our workforce is distributed across the country.

We are collectively doing our part to follow social distancing guidelines and have the appropriate tools to continue servicing our global network of customers. That being said, we appreciate our incredibly fortunate position and recognize the difficulties many individuals, families, and business are beginning to face.

We’ve had the opportunity to work with some amazing folks over the years during challenging times, including relief efforts during hurricanes Harvey and Dorian, the California wildfires, and numerous earthquakes, tornadoes, and cyclones. Beyond natural disasters, Fulcrum is deployed daily to maintain utility networks, protect endangered wildlife, manage homelessness, and countless other critical tasks. Our entire team takes great pride in recognizing that for many of our customers, Fulcrum has become one of their own critical cloud-based services, essential to maintaining productivity, especially when circumstances are challenging.

The Fulcrum platform was built to be user-friendly, robust, and incredibly flexible — and our mission is to continue providing the tools that let professionals focus on their work without having to worry about IT hurdles.

In light of the current pandemic, we have decided to offer our platform at no cost for 90 days to organizations that have a need to collect and share information as part of their COVID-19 response. We hope this will enable users to accelerate their efforts during the acute phase of this crisis.
