Wildnote is joining Fulcrum

Wildnote Blog Feature

By Kristen Hazard
Former CEO, Wildnote, current Senior Director of Environmental, Fulcrum

I’m excited to share that Wildnote has been acquired by Fulcrum.

What this means for Wildnote customers

First and foremost: Wildnote customers will continue to be supported.

What doesn’t change is why we built Wildnote — or who’s behind it. Nancy Douglas (Director of Customer Success) and I are both staying on, our team remains closely involved, and our commitment to environmental fieldwork and protecting our shared natural resources remains central to everything we do.

What does change is what sits behind Wildnote.

By joining Fulcrum, Wildnote becomes part of a platform built to scale — with the reliability, infrastructure, and engineering resources required to continuously deliver new value. It also means access to a broader set of capabilities that we’ve wanted to bring to Wildnote for a long time, but simply didn’t have the resources to build on our own.

For Wildnote customers, this partnership is a force multiplier: more capability, faster iteration, and a stronger long-term foundation behind the tools you rely on.

What this brings to Fulcrum customers

For Fulcrum users, this acquisition adds deep environmental domain expertise and field-tested IP.

Wildnote has spent years building workflows specifically for environmental professionals — where data must be defensible, repeatable, collected under real-world field conditions, and delivered to regulatory agencies. That expertise strengthens Fulcrum’s environmental capabilities and means less to build from scratch for teams supporting environmental and compliance-driven work.

Building with AI, at platform scale

One of the most exciting aspects of joining Fulcrum is the ability to build on a platform delivering real, practical AI capabilities in the field, with continued investment into what comes next.

Fulcrum’s AI-powered Insights lets teams have a conversation with their field data and get immediate visualizations, summaries, and maps. And Audio FastFill supports hands-free, voice-based entry across multiple structured fields during field data collection.

Seeing these features already shipped and in the hands of customers played a meaningful role in our decision to join Fulcrum. They’re clearly out in front, and they’ve demonstrated the ability to execute.

Looking ahead

The Fulcrum-Wildnote partnership is about acceleration, not disruption.

Wildnote customers gain the backing of a larger, powerful platform with the resources to keep building. Fulcrum customers gain environmental workflows that are ready to use out of the box, built to complement the deep expertise of environmental professionals and help consolidate more environmental work within Fulcrum.

I’m excited about what we can build together — and about delivering more field-first power to both communities.
